Hi,
I’m Ross Alan.
Thanks
for checking out my Podium Memories web site. I’ve always enjoyed
rhyming verse and found that I could get it down on paper with relative
ease. So, when a neighbourhood friend was celebrating one of those ‘significant’
birthdays a short time ago, I thought that a poem about his life (that
which I knew about!) would be appropriate. On the day of the
celebration, I composed about 50 verses (rhyming quatrain) and read them
at the party. Since then, another 50 or so verses have been added to his
‘Life’s Journey’, just for the fun of it. At that time, a few of
the neighbours asked if I could write for other special occasions,
requiring tributes …weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, retirements,
etc. And, Podium Memories (and, a passion) was born.

I
write in prose as well. However, most clients prefer rhyming quatrain or
limerick verse once they have seen some samples. The wedding segment has
been a focus as such events can be particularly stressful. Sometimes, it
just makes sense to let someone like Podium Memories create a tailored
tribute for that memorable wedding day. "Let us do the word worrying for
you" has become a motto giving peace of mind to those speech-givers for
any occasion who lack the time to prepare. Or, get overly stressed
at the thought of standing up in front of 100 guests and sounding
relevant, relaxed, funny and cool! Those videos of the speaker(s) will
be around for a long time. Podium Memories to the rescue! Please check
out ‘How Podium Memories works with clients’ to see how it all comes
together.

A
background in teaching, public speaking (formerly with a corporate
multi-national’s Speaker’s Bureau), panel moderation, globally
published business documents and marketing training/consulting has
formed the foundation for what Podium Memories is all about. That is, to
collaborate with a client to understand and to get the kind of
information needed to compose a winning tribute, so that my client is
completely satisfied and comfortable with the end result. And, have them
be remembered on that special occasion (their moment), for the right
reasons! |
